Update | Processing our first blood samples

Approximately 90% of cancer deaths are caused by metastasis.

During the past year the Tzu team has established a complete workflow for isolation and molecular characterization of circulating tumor cells, which are the key drivers of metastasis. In the last few weeks we have routinely processed many blood samples from patients with prostate, breast and lung cancer.

We celebrated these achievements with a cake decorated with a colorful picture of a single circulating tumor cell from a patient with prostate cancer. There is much more to come! We are on our way to develop next-generation cancer precision therapy based on the molecular information of circulating tumor cells.
