Update | Solve with Google Hackathon

The Bioinformatics team at Tzu recently participated in the Solve with Google Hackathon 2025, an event co-organized by Google and Prinses Máxima Centrum voor Kinderoncologie (the largest pediatric cancer center in Europe). The aim was to develop new digital solutions to support the workforce of the Princess Maxima Center.

During the event, our team collaborated with researchers from the Princess Maxima Center to design a digital review solution intended to assist in the evaluation of oncology clinical trial protocols, following standard guidelines from the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

By the end of the day, our team successfully built a working demo system using AI agents deployed in the cloud. This system is capable of reading through large regulatory dossiers from drug candidates and identifying potential flaws in the drug trial proposals.

The hackathon itself was an exciting opportunity (and challenge) for our team to explore the potential generative AI solutions while tackling a real-life issue in the healthcare domain.
